IMS Moist Alert

The IMS Moist Alert sensor is a self-contained unit used for sensing the percentage Relative Humidity (%RH), or percentage below saturation, of moisture present in lubricants and hydraulic fluids.

This sensor was developed by IMS for Entek International and Pall Industrial Hydraulics. It can be installed permanently to a lube oil or hydraulic system. The sensor is then connected to either a desktop or notebook computer to collect the data. It features a next-generation ‘smart’ transducer which contains an 8-bit RISC processor. Self-diagnosis ensures the sensor is fully functional, and user configurable alarms can be used to store location-specific alarms relating to critical components.

The device uses a sophisticated serial network protocol which enables any number of transducers to be networked with a simple twisted pair RS-485 network. The serial communication uses a 16-bit CRC error check on all serial data to detect 99.9984% of all errors. RS-232 or analog output is also possible.
